I struggle with keyword research. Maybe you also do? I can find lots of them. The problem is though that most are next to useless, or at least seem to be.
When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.
The results you see are not always correct, far from it. But it will have been spot on at some time. I accidentally discovered the answer to that puzzle.
I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I was feeling confident enough to rank well with this one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.
It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I could hardly believe that. Had there been some mistake? As it happens most of these extra results were my articles on these different sites.
What I’m saying is that I would have left it alone had I saw over 9000 competing sites. Turns out I was competing mostly against myself as my article was the cause of these sites ranking. A nice situation to be in!
I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.
I chose to give Travis Sago’s Instacash keyword research service a go. Travis being numero uno in the bum marketing world. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.
If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.
Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing. Seems to be all you hear from the gurus of internet marketing. I reckon there’s not much difference here. I’m paying someone else to research my keywords. I reckon that’s outsourcing.
If you’re interested in how the trial of the Instacash service went then head on over to my web site. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll let you into that little secret on my site.
